Permit to Work

A permit to work system is in operation on ALL Lendlease Construction projects

Type of Permits
  • Ceiling Space Access
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Drill, Cut or Core
  • Excavation
  • Hot Work
  • Industrial Rope Access
  • Isolation of Energised System
  • Safety Harness
  • Work near Overhead Assets or Powerlines
  • Workbox 
Persons working under a Permit have the following responsibilities:

BEFORE work commences:

  • Do not start work until an approved permit is issued
  • Attend a pre-start briefing and sign onto the permit

DURING work:

    • Work in accordance with the Permit, including implementing the control measures and other documented requirements outlined in the Permit, at all times.
    • Report all incidents immediately and stop work under the Permit if it is unsafe to continue

AFTER work:

  • Ensure the work area is left in a safe and tidy state.

Important Notes

  • It is the responsibility of the Subcontractor Supervisor to request, populate, seek approval and close out Permits to Work in accordance with Lendlease requirements.
  • Workers are not to proceed with these works without Lendlease approval of the Permit To Work.
  • Subcontractor Supervision is to brief workers on the Permit requirements for the tasks, with workers signing a hard copy of the Permit.
  • A hard copy of the Permit, including plans, drawings, scanning reports and any other relevant information is to be kept at the work front for the duration of work.
